Our first stop in Laos was Luang Prabang, which we flew into from Bangkok. We spent a few days there with our friend Klaus, taking in the ancient temples, the breathtaking scenery, and the fantastic food. From there we traveled down to Vang Vieng, where we tubed down the river (in between "Friends" reruns). Our last stop was the capitol, Vientiane, where we dined on marvelous French crepes and did a bit of shopping. Then it was across the Mekong, back to Thailand!
