Hedgehogs Without Borders

On March 3, 2005, Jessica and Tim set off on an epic 18-month round-the-world adventure. That trip may be over now, but the storytelling has only just begun!

This website is here both as a record of our trip and a resource for other travelers. Please feel free to leave us a comment at the bottom of our journal entries!

There are many stories we are looking forward to sharing from our time at Elephant Nature Park. But before we get to our stories, we thought you might enjoy some pictures of our gentle giant friends. So, without further ado, I present to you 14 of our favorite elephant pictures.

Can't say a word… they are so… WOW!
What happens when they sneeze? Are they warm? Do they really never forget? Great pix.
Love you both.

Cute pics! However I'm dying to know if elephnats are really afraid of mice. I've been meaning to ask the Mythbusters about this, but I thought I'd ask you two first…

Wow, those photos are so amazing. I love 'Generations'. I'm going to visit Thailand again in December, and would love to go to the elephant park you talk about. I think there are two in Chiang Mai I have read about where they treat the elephants nicely. It sounds like you both are having the most amazing time. I love reading your travel blog. Great photos!

Thanks so much for the kind words. Tim took the 'Generations' photo and it's one of my favoites too. :)

That's exciting that you're headed back to Thailand again. The Elephant Nature Park really is a magical place and we highly recommend a visit there. :)

If you want to learn more about the park, you can check out the (newly unveiled) website that we built/wrote for them (yea!) at ElephantNatureFoundationOnline.com. :)

The new website looks amazing. So much easier to use than their previous one and with beautiful photos :)

I definately want to visit, probably for a few days. I’m just starting to plan out the trip as I only have a month, and I too really enjoyed Cambodia when I went before so I’d like to spend time there again and I’m interested in Laos.

Anyway it sounds like you guys are doing the most amazing work from reading your latest posts, rescuing and looking after all those elephants. I hope its as rewarding as it sounds.

Thailand

:: Itinerary ::

Thailand, known as "the land of smiles," is the first country we're visiting during the Southeast Asia leg of our round-the-world trip. Our first stop: Bangkok, Thailand's capital. After that, some quiet beach time on Ko Chang was in order. From there we crossed into Cambodia, but we're coming back to Thailand after that, so stay tuned!
