So, as many of you are aware, it’s been a little while since last we posted. (In fact, it’s been more than five weeks!)
As we hinted at before, in the first comment made to our last post, there is a very good reason for this lapse in communication. We’ll get to all that shortly, after a brief note about the art of the “fast-forward.”
When we last left you, we had just entered Cambodia for our second time. We spent another two amazing weeks there (for a total of six weeks in Cambodia), and had all sorts of adventures. We reunited with our good friends Sam and the monk, and had a hair-raising experience in the rarely-visited northeastern portion of the country. And we couldn’t wait to write all about it.
But the thing is, having just had this other experience - the one that’s kept us away from civilzation off and on for the past seven weeks - we’re now just bursting to write about those experiences. And so we think we’re going to once again do a little bit of a fast-forward, and come back to Cambodia when we have the chance. The fact is that Sam and the monk are far too special to us to breeze through when we’re thinking about other things. The time we spent with them was special, and we want to do it justice. So you all will just have to wait a little bit for that one.
For the next several posts or so, we’ll be telling you about the most special and amazing experience we’ve had on our entire trip. We’re talking about something downright life-changing here. We’ll tell you about all the friends we made out in the jungle. We’ll tell you about the special package Tim had to prepare for a Thai princess. We’ll tell you about the most touching friendship we’ve ever witnessed. We’ll tell you about a young lady named Tong Jan, the luckiest of her kind in the world by far. And we’ll tell you about the friend who will one day soon be coming to the states to live with us.
Stay tuned.
